Since Zachary LOVES building balsa model planes, we purchased a couple models for him to build...hopefully in time for the fair. One is a USA F4F-Wildcat plane, the other a Japanese Float-plane...perfect for his "Battle of Midway" project.
Here he is building the USA plane, the F4F-Wildcat:
I will post more photos of him building the models, along with the finished results when he's done. The photo above shows how much he was able to do in just a few hours!! He's pretty amazing if you ask me. =)
Hannah's purchase was a bit different...you can tell that Mommy was behind this gift. ha ha! Below are photos of her unveiling the surprise: (PLEASE ignore her hair...I honestly don't know WHAT'S up with it...such a mess!)
Here she is opening the box, but unsure still of what it is...even though she SHOULD recognize the size of the box right away - she's done this before! =)
Her excitement was building now as she realized what it is....
YES!!!!!!!!! A new American Girl doll!!!! Notice her BIG smile!
It's Julie...the 1970's doll...appropriate for her project, don't you think?
Hannah and Julie...
Hannah also has the best outfit to wear to the fair...a 70's 'far out' dress that she'll wear with white knee hi's and a headband. Ahh, gotta love that retro look! Don't worry, there will be photos!!
The fair is coming up in just another week and a half, so they've got their work cut out for them. It will be a great event though...there are over 25 participants and we're expecting over 100 people. This is my favorite homeschool event, hands down. It's my 'baby'...I plan it every year, right down to the award medals and trophies! Lots of work, but lots of fun as well.
