Field Trip Fun

One of the perks of homeschooling, is that I get to go on lots of great field trips with the kids. Our homeschool group plans a minimum of 3 field trips a month - way more than most schools ever do, so the kids get to experience so many wonderful things on top of their daily work at home.

This month our favorite trip was to a local Native American Indian Reservation. It was a blast! Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take photos in the museum (except for the main hall where the photos below are from), but I did capture a few on our hike.

After our tour we ate lunch, then went to our class called "Inside the Fort"


The class included of a hike through the woods in search of an Indian fort that was found on the reservation in recent years. The archeologist taught the kids all about how to find artifacts, and determine what the various areas of the fort were located (kitchen area, blacksmith area etc.)

After our class, we enjoyed a nice hike through the woods. It was a gorgeous autumn day!




The ride home was long and we were all very tired, but the view was beautiful!
