Just Horse'n Around

We love horses! I think that if we had a large plot of land with enough room (and money) we just may own a couple.

We have a science fair coming up in our homeschool group, and Sweet-Pea chose to study all about horses for her project, so the other day we went to the local stables to learn more about these beautiful animals God created. Once we got past the smells in the stable, we had a great time!! The horses were simply beautiful, and they were very friendly.

One of Edward's friends has a daughter who rides here, so she took Sweet-Pea around to show her the tack room and all about the horses. It was so much fun!! Of course, I had my camera with me so I was able to snap a few (understatement!) photos. Here are some of them:

My favorite photo....it was all about timing!

The Stables

Hmm, what's he looking at??

Sweet-Pea...his new friend!

Visiting the Tack room with all the saddles, bridles and more.

Mmmmmmm.....sugar cubes are the best! Lionel had fun feeding the horses.

Sweet-Pea's favorite horse in the stables....Patches!

So beautiful...every one of them!

Sweet-Pea holding the horse shoe she was given. It took me almost an hour of scrubbing to get all the horse poo out of the nooks and crannies! Eew...but so worth it. It'll be hung on Sweet-Pea's bedroom wall!

If you want to learn more about horses, here are a few wonderful websites and ideas:

Have fun!!

Next week Lionel and Edward will be heading up to the Air Museum next week for some photos and a bit of learning. His project for the science fair will be about planes. Visiting the museum will be a blast for him I'm sure. If they get good photos, I'll post 'em here.

(On a side note...if any of you following our house saga is reading....please be in prayer tonight at 5:00 pm. There will be someone looking at the condo of the person who wants to buy our home. If they are able to sell their condo, then we will have ultimately sold our home too. This is the 2nd showing for them and they are cautiously optimistic about it. Please pray that they will sell so we can all close this chapter of our lives. It would be a HUGE weight lifted off our shoulders if this goes through. If not...then we continue with the selling process. Thanks!!)
