We spent a good chunk of the year with my Dad in both the nursing home and the hospital...and in September, he passed away. Oh how we miss him!!! We also are experiencing a loss of another kind...our home. We will be moving as soon as our home sells...not because we want to, but because our town literally has taxed us right out of it! It's highway robbery and every one here is suffering. I only hope our home sells before we lose it!!!
This year was also a year of beginnings. Our new addition: Cody, a Goldendoodle dog, joined us in February. Sweet-Pea also started her new venture in figure skating, and Edward's brother got married! We look forward to the new year as we hope and pray that God will bless us and help us move on from all we went through the past several years with Dad. Life is different now for us as we are finally finding time for one another. The light is at the end of the tunnel, we just need to find our new home to get completely settled.

I enjoyed your pictorial 2008 in Review ... love Cody and the bubbles especially. I'm sorry about the loss of you home and your Dad (I lost mine when I was 30 and my Mom at 44) so I know how hard this is.
I did a simpler kind of 'review' meme and created an award to share with others who do a 2008 Review, so feel free to drop by Small Reflections and 'snag' the 'elephant' award to enjoy. Feel free to pass it along to other who do a year's review too.
Hugs and blessings,
Hi Elinor,
I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry to hear about your dad's passing. Christmas must have been especially hard. May God bless all of you during this time.
Blessings,
Heidi - homeschooler in Florida
This brought back lots of memories of your year! Wow, you have been through and accomplished a lot.
On another note...I rented Sense & Sensibility to watch again from start to finish since I've only ever seen it in bits and pieces. It was wonderful.
