I'm making Potato Soup! It's more like a chowder and it's sooo good! The recipe is simple and I'm able to put it all in my crock pot and forget about it until it's almost ready...my kind of cooking.
It's cooking now...
...and it looks so yummy already, but it has several more hours to cook!
While I was making the soup, Sweet-Pea helped me out a lot. She's a fantastic helper in the kitchen - one day she'll make a great wife/mommy!!!! She was so inspired, that she got out some of her own things and began to 'cook' on the dining room table.
When asked what she was cooking she said "I'm making apple pie with cherries in it. The crust is made of fried bread and pear skins." OK, so maybe she's not the BEST cook...but she'll get there! ha ha She's a total trip sometimes. She has an entire kitchen set in the family room that she spends hours playing with. Maybe someday she'll have her own restaurant, who knows.
Before you all ask...I'll post the recipe for my potato soup here. It's not my personal recipe so I can't take credit for it, but it's just too good not to share!!!!
POTATO SOUP
(Yields approx. 3 quarts)
6 cups of cubed peeled potatoes
2 cups of chopped onion
1/2 cup of chopped celery
1/2 cup of thinly sliced carrots
1/4 cup of butter or margarine (I use butter!)
5 cups of water
4 teaspoons of chicken bouillon granules (I use the paste, sometimes the cubes)
2 teaspoons of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
Combine all these ingredients in a slow cooker and put on high for 7 hours (it doesn't always take that long in mine) or until the vegetables are tender. Then add the following:
1 can (12 ounces) of evaporated milk
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Cook for 30-60 more minutes or until heated through. Use snipped chives as a garnish if you desire....and always...serve with love!!
Enjoy!

Great snow photos!! We got about 8 + inches yesterday then it started the freezing rain and at our house there is about a 1/4 inch of ice on top of the snow!! It is gorgeous but freezing cold and no fun to play in.
That soup looks yummy! :P
Enjoy your winter wonderland. :)
Yummy! So, can you add the category "good eats" to your categories so that I can come find this to make it later? LOL
Yum! I wrote this one down and look forward to trying it.
