This painting hangs in my dining room above my fireplace...no...not the original (I wish!), but a painted copy. I never tire of looking at it. It's very peaceful and serene. I can just imagine walking down that path near the lake.
OK, where am I going with this post? I'm not too sure, but I did want to post about a video.
I found this clip of a guy who paints to music. His name is Michael Israel. I'm not too crazy about his 'modern' art, but the results of his paintings are amazing considering how he paints them! Have a look...
It actually looks like fun, but can you imagine cleaning up after this guy?? No thanks. I made the mistake of showing the video to my kids, and now they want to try it. Oh my!! Now I have to come up with a creative way of saying 'no' to them without squelching their enthusiasm! Maybe I'll just pull out the old box of crayons, a few water color paints and some paper - that should at least satisfy their artistic desires...for now.

Wow! That You Tube painter is brilliant!!!
Yes, that wouldn't make for a good art session in my school room!
BTW... I was born in '69.
Wow! I'll have to show the kids that one, but all reproductions will have to be done outside!
BTW, if you have time, consider yourself tagged. Head on over to my blog for the rules!

I really enjoyed that video! And the results are amazing, like you said.
My boys liked seeing it too.
Last summer I taped brown paper (the kind on a large roll) up to the side of the garage and let them go crazy with paint. They had a blast.
Maybe try something like this?
God bless ~
