Update on Kessy

Well, I'm sad to say that poor little Kessy didn't make it. She died during the night. Apparently she not only had a hole in her chest, but she had major head trauma as well. The kids were totally heart broken, but know that they did the right thing in trying to save her life. At least she is better off now and not in any more pain. Poor Kessy...gone, but certainly not forgotten!

“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” –Matthew 10:29-31

“How can I be discouraged when my heavenly Father watches over each little sparrow, and I know He loves and cares for me?”

These words were spoken by an invalid woman to the person (Civilla Martin) who wrote the song "His Eye is on the Sparrow". Here are the words to the song:

His Eye is on the Sparrow

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Refrain
I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

“Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

How true and sweet they are. God loves us all so much. If he takes the time to watch over the birds with such care, don't you think he is concerned about every single detail of our own lives?!? What an awesome thought!!

I am so sorry that Kessy didn't make it. Cats have a lot of bacteria on their claws and if a bird is scratched it is almost always fatal.
Nice of you though to bring it somewhere to be taken care of.
